Why CBD?

CBD is an extract from the cannabis plant.

The two most known compounds in the plant are Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and Cannabidiol (CBD). Most people know-of or have heard-of THC. However, CBD is the non-psychoactive compound, meaning it will not change a person’s state of mind when they use it; or in simpler words, you will not get high.

All cannabinoids produce effects in the body by interacting with cannabinoid receptors, which form part of the Endocannabinoid System (ECS). CBD works by collaborating with the body's own ECS.

The body produces two receptors, CB1 and CB2.

CB1 receptors are present throughout the body, particularly in the brain. They coordinate the body’s movement, pain, thinking, mood, emotion, appetite, memories, and other functions.

CB2 receptors are more common in the immune system, affecting inflammation and pain.

CBD stimulates these receptors so that the body produces its own cannabinoids, known as endocannabinoids.

Why do we infuse our product with CBD?

At Canna-Envy, we believe in the healing powers of nature. There are many benefits to applying a CBD product topically, rather than taking it orally. Ingesting CBD orally can take up to 2 hours to fully experience the effects, whereas a topical application of cannabinoids allows them to be absorbed directly into the application area for faster and more focused relief.

We chose to use CBD in our products because CBD provides a natural and organic alternative to traditional pharmaceuticals which have adverse effects on the human body. CBD should be used or taken daily.
